One of the things you have to be careful of when getting a mobile plan is the data allowance.

If you are a heavy mobile phone user like us it’s pretty easy to quickly chew up all the data on your mobile phone plan. If you go over your data allowance you could get stung with excess data fees.

What’s also annoying is that some months you don’t use all your data and other months you go way over.

The good news is that we have come across a great mobile phone plan that allows you to ‘bank’ your unused data.

So, how does data banking work?

Let’s say you are on a 70GB per month mobile plan – in this case, you would start your monthly cycle with 70GB of data.

At the end of the month, you’ve only used 40GB of your allocated data.

Instead of losing the remaining 30GB of mobile data, it will effectively get added to your “bank” for when you need it.

You would now have a total of 100GB of data (70GB for this month + 30GB of “banked” data that you didn’t use from last month). See the diagram below for a visual explanation.
